1. “Cast Your Fate to the Wind”

Finding myself once again having reached the end of a major task and dealing with the shift change that comes afterward.  Inevitably, some self-reflection is in order.

Again, checking in on some of my stated goals for the year:

    • Write More - Well, this has just kind of blown chunks.  I have easily a half-dozen unfinished blog posts sitting as drafts in various places, not to mention a few more that I started to mentally write but never even committed to the page in any form (treeware or electronic).  Goddamit.  At least I’m doing a bit better with journal writing.  Have nearly filled my current notebook, and it only took me six months, whereas it took me a year-and-a-half to fill the last one.
    • Take More Pictures - Faring even worse than the writing.  I don’t remember that last time I took my camera out.
    • Travel - Thank Dog that I’m at least accomplishing one goal.  I did get to New York in February, and will be heading off to London and Paris in the fall (flight is booked - yay).  Also hoping to get a trip to Montreal in there somewhere.

I’ve had the week off from work and have been doing a lot of thinking about things, which is where the writing helps.  As always, it’s a work in progress…

(The title of this post takes its name from a tune composed by Vince Guaraldi, better known as the guy who wrote the music for A Charlie Brown Christmas.  It seemed to fit the mood.)
